NFL teams are dealing with issues with coronavirus testing just weeks before the season is set to start. The league released a statement saying numerous positive tests were revealed yesterday by the same lab located in New Jersey. However, a bunch of those tests were false positives, including six Steelers. General Manager Kevin Colbert said six players didn’t practice on Saturday, but they were back in meetings yesterday and will practice today.
The New York Jets had 10 false positives, the Chicago Bears nine, and the Minnesota Vikings eight.
New Steelers tight end Erik Ebron says he has been working hard with Ben Roethlisberger and gain the quarterback’s confidence.
Defensive lineman Tyson Alualu is working hard as well, moving in to play the nose guard position vacated by the departure of Javon Hargrave. Alualu says it was gratifying to know the Steelers trusted him to give him the first shot.
One roster move this weekend by the Steelers. They have signed undrafted free agent tight end Kyle Markway, who was released by the Giants last week. Markway played college ball at South Carolina. He takes the roster spot of Dax Raymond, who was waived/injured last week.
