Gas price averages across the nation and state have been falling slightly over the last week.
Triple-A reports that the national average cost of a gallon of gas this morning is $3.62 a gallon, a six cent drop from last week, but it is a 19-cent hike over last month. The reason for the recent gas price drop is due to the cost of crude oil hovering around the $70 a barrel mark. Experts with Triple-A say as long as crude oil prices are in that area, drivers should see falling gas prices at the pump.
Pennsylvania’s average has only dropped three cents over the last week to $3.75, which was up 20 cents over last month’s average cost. Indiana County’s average this morning is $3.85, making it the highest average in the six-county region. Jefferson County has the lowest average in the region at $3.73.
Gas prices are hovering between $3.85 and $3.89 a gallon throughout Indiana County, according to Gasbuddy.com.
