The Pirates’ bats were silent again last night as they were shut out by Cleveland.
Pittsburgh was blanked, 2-0, as Cleveland starting pitcher Shane Bieber struck out 11 Pirates batters. Pittsburgh fell to 4-17 on the season.

Manager Derek Shelton said the Pirates can only climb out of this horrible stretch of losses by getting the bats going.
Catcher Jacob Stallings said Bieber was just too tough last night.
The Pirates have lost four games in a row and have the worst record in the baseball. They’ve won just two games in the month of August.
Chad Kuhl starts tonight as the Bucs open a three-game series against Milwaukee.
