The latest batch of accident reports demonstrates that January has been a rough month so far for area drivers.
A Smicksburg man was injured yesterday afternoon in a crash on Route 210 in North Mahoning Township. Police say 66-year-old Aaron Haskins was traveling down a hill near Dutch Creek Road when his SUV slid off the snow-covered road and hit a ditch. Haskins had possible back injuries and was taken to Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
21-year-old Joshua Flack of Derry and his passenger escaped injury yesterday morning when Flack’s car slid and hit the trailer of a tractor trailer he was trying to pass on Route 422 in Cherryhill Township. The big rig’s driver, Kevin Prescher of Dallas, Texas, was also unhurt.
36-year-old Amanda Leamer of Rossiter was uninjured in an accident at 4:45 AM Sunday on Wayne Avenue in White Township. State police say Leamer lost control of her car on the icy road and hit a barrier wall on the left side of the highway at the Route 119 southbound merge point.
No one was injured Saturday afternoon in a crash on Main Street in Plumville. A pickup driven by 19-year-old Carl Foss of Rural Valley slid out of control on the snowy road and smashed into the Wood Chevrolet building, knocking a large hole in the wall and damaging a Chevy Monte Carlo that was stored inside.
24-year-old Luke Walsh of Clymer was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center last Friday morning after his car rolled over, coming to rest back on its wheels after hitting an embankment along Route 553 in Cherryhill Township. Walsh suffered unspecified injuries.
