State Police are warning motorists of a person impersonating an officer. The incident was reported on January 8th around 4:00 in the afternoon in Brush Valley Township.
Michael Bartlett, an 18-year-old man from Saint Clair Township, was driving on Route 56 near Sunflower Lane when he was stopped by a gray Ford Taurus with red and blue flashing lights near the visor and on the dash. The man driving the car, dressed in blue jeans, a black tee-shirt and a camouflage coat with the letters USMC across the front. The man did not identify himself by name or with a police department, and did not show a badge or ID. When he approached, the man said he pulled Bartlett over for following too closely, and he requested to see Bartlett’s license. The man then became angry towards Bartlett over his driving, and after returning to his vehicle, the man got on a PA system to taunt Bartlett before Bartlett pulled out.
