RIVER VALLEY SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER DISTRICT CALENDAR TONIGHT

The River Valley School Board will meet tonight and on the agenda is the calendar for the next school year.

The calendar includes 14 early dismissal Wednesdays.  While students will be off for half the day, teachers in the district will utilize those half days for professional development.  The first day of school for students would be Thursday, August 24th, with the final student day set for May 29th.

The board will also look to approve the purchase of two new anatomage tables.  These tables are designed to use 3D technology for virtual dissection and anatomy visualization.  The total cost of the tables is not to exceed $155,692.80.

The meeting tonight is set for 7:00 PM at the River Valley High School Auditorium in Blairsville.

I love it! It will help bring more economic activity to Indiana County!
I love it! It's much needed for the safety of folks to link the trails and access both sides of that busy highway.
I love it for both of the reasons listed above (as long as they maintain it.)
It's not going to be the economic boon they're saying it will be.
Not enough people will use it to have an effect on safety.
It will not be maintained and will fall into disuse rather quickly.
