In Westmoreland County Court today, a status conference is scheduled for Dylan Blair, a Saltsburg man accused of drug delivery resulting in death.
The 21-year-old Blair is charged in connection with the death of 38-year-old Michelle Spillar of Derry, who died at her home on the day after Christmas, 2016. Blair is accused of selling Spillar the fentanyl-laced heroin that caused her death. He was tracked down by Westmoreland County detectives and captured at the Days Inn in Burrell Township last May. When the detectives entered Blair’s rented room, they found another man, Edward Russian of Saltsburg, in the midst of overdosing. Russian revived and he and Blair were both charged with possession on a controlled substance. Blair pleaded guilty and Russian is awaiting Criminal Call next month.
In the Spillar case, Blair is charged with for drug delivery in death and three counts of possession with intent to deliver (or delivery of) a controlled substance. His trial was originally scheduled for last October but was cancelled. He will be transported from the Allegheny County Jail for the hearing today. He’s being held there in a DUI and possession case.
