The Pirates have won their fifth in a row with a win last night over the Cincinatti Reds. Joe Block reports.
With the win, the Pirates will be able to claim a long standing bet with one of their coaches to shave his head if the team won five straight. The offer from bench coach Don Kelly had been on the table since July 13th of last year when the Pirates faced the Marlins and had won 4 in a row. Since then, they had only two other opportunities to cash in on that deal but last night’s win was the fifth one to bring the promise back to the front.
The Pirates and Reds will play again today. Rich Hill will start for the Bucs, with a record of 1-2 and a 5.57 ERA. Opposing them will be Luis Cessna, who is 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA. Airtime is 6:10 tonight on WCCS.
