Two people were injured in a crash on Route 119 in Rayne Township on Wednesday.
State Police say around 11:24 in the morning, Carrie Myers of Sykesville was driving south on 119 when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Jeep driven by 21-year-old Cody Lute of Clymer. Myers car came to rest in the northbound lane and caught fire. An eyewitness was able to put the fire out. The jeep came to rest in the northbound lane. Myers had to be extricated from her vehicle by Marion Center fire department members. Both vehicles had heavy front-end damage and required towing.
Myers had suspected serious injuries and was originally taken to IRMC, and was flown to UPMC Presbyterian hospital later on. Lute suffered minor injuries and he was taken to IRMC for treatment.
