The Penguins missed out on winning the NHL Draft Lottery.
Instead, the division rival New York Rangers will have the chance to draft forward Alexis Lafreniere, who is projected to be the top pick. The Pens will instead fall to potentially the 15th overall pick. They have seven days to determine if they’ll keep the pick, or send it to Minnesota as part of the Jason Zucker trade.
The draft will be held October 9th and 10th remotely.
