The Wolf administration’s recent guidelines concerning how schools should reopen during the Coronavirus pandemic was a topic of discussion at Monday night’s Indiana School Board meeting.
Earlier in the day, the Wolf administration said that Indiana County is currently in the moderate phase. Also, District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that the district was looking to move into the yellow or red phases of their reopening plans. You can read Vuckovich’s complete statement by clicking here.
During last night’s meeting, Vuckovich said that over the next few days, the district will try to digest all the information they received Monday.
He added that the district understands how district parents must feel with having things change quickly.
Board President Walter Schroth asked the public to give Vuckovich the time needed to properly examine everything associated with the Wolf Administration’s reccomendations.
In other business, the board approved a motion that came up as a result of the PIAA’s delay of the start of fall sports. The board approved the continuation of voluntary pre-season conditioning until further notice. The PIAA is currently talking with the Wolf administration to see if fall sports can still be played. Wolf’s recommendation last week was to delay the start of sports until January 1st, 2021.
