With the Penguins being eliminated from the playoffs, they’re now eligible for a chance at the number one pick in the NHL Draft.
The lottery entered phase two after the first phase saw the top pick awarded to a team that had made the qualifying round of the playoffs. Each of the eight teams, including the Penguins, will have an equal chance at winning the top pick.
