Former Pitt center John Hugley has announced a verbal commitment to transfer to Oklahoma. Hugley missed most of last season with knee injuries and mental health problems. He played 8 games and averaged 8 points before sitting out the rest of the season.
Panthers coach Jeff Capel yesterday announced that former Rhode Island guard Ishmael Liggett has signed his paperwork to make his transfer to Pitt official.
And Pitt has announced the renewal of the basketball version of the backyard Brawl with West Virginia. The 190th meeting of the two schools will be December 6th in Morgantown. West Virginia won last year’s game at Pitt.
