The Blairsville Colts tied the Indiana County League championsip series Friday evening with a late-inning, come-from-behind win. They defeated West Lebanon, 9-5, at Bertolini Field to give each team one win in the best-of-5 series.
David Doak put the Colts ahead for good with a towering, two-run home run in the seventh inning.
Bobby Thompson singled to start the seventh-inning rally and Doak followed with the homer to right field off Blake Fairman to put Blairsville ahead.
Fairman exited after hitting Jayke Saiani and was replaced by Ethan Prugh. Jordan Truscott greeted Prugh with a single, and Matt Bashioum followed with a two-run double to give Blairsville an 8-5 lead. The final run scored on an error.
The Colts received solid pitching performances from Matt Hogue and Bashioum, who picked up the win in relief.
Doak drove in three runs and Thompson accounted for two more hits. Mike Fennell delivered a two-run double in the fourth that put the Colts ahead, 4-2.
Fairman had two hits and two runs batted in for West Lebanon.
West Lebanon won Game 1, 9-8, on Thursday.
Games 3 and 4 will be played at Blairsville’s WyoTech Park Sunday and Monday with 2 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. starts, respectively.
