If you are planning to put in a driveway in White Township, there is a new ordinance that you have to follow.
At last night’s White Township Supervisors Meeting, the Supervisors approved a new ordinance, and an adjustment to an existing one. The new ordinance concerns driveways in the township, and is for new developments and residences, according to Township Manager Milt Lady. The ordinance will have new driveways conform to township standards, such as sight lines and runoff. They have to also file for a permit for the construction.
This would not pertain to existing driveways in the township, unless that driveway undergoes a significant improvement project.
The other ordinance is an edit to the existing sidewalk ordinance, which expands the rules about keeping sidewalks clear for sidewalks along all township roads. That responsibility falls upon the property owner.
The township also passed a resolution to support the Indiana Area Parks and Recreation Commission as it currently exists.
