The Pirates defeated the Minnesota Twins, 6-5. Thursday afternoon to end their seven-game losing streak and they did it in walk-off style.
Kevin Newman’s two-run pinch-single with one out in the ninth inning did the trick.

Pittsburgh’s two-run rally against Minnesota closer Taylor Rogers gave them 14 runs in the ninth inning this season. The Pirates (3-10) have scored 62 percent of their runs this season in the seventh inning or later.
Gregory Polanco drove in three runs. Sam Howard picked up the pitching win.
