STATE LOOKING TO HIRE CONTACT TRACERS

Pennsylvania is committing more funding to “contact tracing” for coronavirus, including in Indiana County.

Lisa Spencer, the director of the Indiana County Department of Human Services, explains how contact tracing works.

Spencer says state officials were hoping to find volunteers to do contact tracing, but they just could not get enough to commit to it.

The state has come up with $23 million in federal funding to work with a company called Insight Global to recruit, hire, train and support 1,000 paid contact tracing staff.
