While spring-like conditions will return to the area, so does the threat of wildfire.
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement concerning the elevated risk of wildfire spread that will remain in effect until 8:15 tonight. Very dry conditions will be prevalent this afternoon across Western Pennsylvania along with Eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia, along with relative humidity levels between 25 and 30 percent. Residents are advised to be cautious if handling anything that could start a fire, like machinery, cigarettes or matches. If dry grasses or tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly.
While today will be dry, there is a chance of rain tomorrow. A complete check of your Accuweather forecast is coming up in a few minutes.
