UPDATE: White Township officials have provided updated information on the road work on Hamill Road on April 24th.
Bison Construction Company will be digging a trench to install new sanitary sewage pipe under the road near Route 286. Originally, lengthy delays and one lane was to be closed, but according to the latest details, The road will be closed from 8:30 AM to noon. The closure will happen after local school buses have made their initial runs. The contractor will then restore traffic to one lane and allow motorists traveling in each direction to alternately pass through the work zone. Local traffic will be able to reach all points on Hammil Road from Old Route 119 and North 4th street throughout the day. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes to alleviate traffic congestion on Monday.
The construction is part of the Route 286 East sewage replacement project that was commissioned by the township Municipal Authority. The roadwork is expected to take one day and traffic will be restored by the end of the day. The entire project is expected to wrap up by the end of the year.
