Coach Paul Tortorella’s IUP football team suited up yesterday for the Spring Game at George P. Miller Stadium. Jack Benedict was there.
Coach Paul Tortorella liked what he saw from his two inexperienced quarterbacks and he may have found a running back to step in and help the rushing game in the absence of Dayjure Stewart, who will miss the early part of the season recovering from knee surgery.
Tortorella has two solid defensive ends but not a lot of experience in the middle of the defensive line. He may have to find some interior line help on the transfer portal.
The coach says the point of the Spring Game is to get his players some action in a game-like setting, and escape injury-free.
IUP will open the season August 31st at 7 PM against Ashland at Miller Stadium.
