State police say no one was hurt in an accident in the drive-through of a fast food restaurant in Burrell Township. Police are now reporting on the accident that happened at 1:48 PM on July 11th at the McDonalds on Resort Plaza Drive. 40-year-old Lauren Stover of Blairsville was in her Chevy Cruze and stopped in the drive-through lane when she was rear-ended by a Jeep driven by 49-year-old James Emerson of New Florence. Police say that after the crash, Emerson fled the scene to avoid apprehension on multiple warrants that are out for his arrest. Charges have been filed through District Judge Robert Bell’s office.
State police have released their report of standout speeders for the month of July. Troopers say that the standout speeder was Katie L. Ness, a 19-year-old from Fallentimber, who was charged with excessive speed violations as she was caught going 93 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. Police did not say where she was caught. Police remind drivers that if they choose to speed put themselves and others at risk of injury or death.
