One person died in a crash in Green Township on Sunday.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. reported that the victim was 78-year-old Sara E. Ashbaugh of Indiana. According to Overman’s report, she was a passenger in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer that was going east on Route 286 in Green Township when a 2008 Chevy Cobalt entered the highway from Musser Road. The driver of the Cobalt ran the stop sign and collided with the Trailblazer. The force of the impact forced the Trailblazer to roll over twice, ejecting Ashbaugh and her husband. She was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time.
Overman declared her dead at the scene and ruled the death accidental due to Blunt Force Trauma.
State police have not released any information on the crash yet, including the identity of the other driver.
Funeral arrangements for Ashbaugh will be through the McCabe-Roof Funeral Home.
