If you are planning on going to Kennywood or Idlewild and Soakzone over the next few weeks, your plans may have to change as those parks have announced changes to their operating schedule.
Palace Entertainment, the parent company for both amusement parks, announced the changes yesterday. For Kennywood, they have announced that they will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays effective next week. The park will be open on Labor Day, September 7th. The park continues to encourage people to RSVP your attendance at the park in advance. Guests can still show up at the park without reserving their day in advance, but if the park has been booked for the day or if park the park has reached its safety capacity, guests may not be let in.
Idlewild and Soakzone had already been working on a reduced schedule, but yesterday, that schedule was reduced further. Starting next week, the park will only be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The park will also be open on Labor Day, and an announcement is expected soon concerning the fall operating schedule.
