IUP has received some financial gifts from two alumni to benefit diverse students in the college of fine arts.
Joshua and Jamie Hilliard, music education graduates from IUP and currently working in the Altoona School District have designated $25,000 from the John and Delores Hilliard Family Foundation to the John and Delores Hilliard Scholarship for Diversity in Fine Arts at IUP. Joshua is an advisor of the fund, established by John and Delores through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation. The scholarship will support incoming, undergraduate, freshmen students enrolled at IUP full-time in the college of fine arts, with a preference for diverse students.
An additional personal gift from Joshua and Jamie allowed the first award to go out this year and it went to 2019 North Penn Graduate Nia Golden of Lansdale.
The gift is part of IUP’s $75 million Imagine Unlimited campaign.
