Former Steelers lineman Carlton Haselrig passed away Wednesday at the age of 54.
Haselrig, a Johnstown native, was the most decorated athlete in Pitt-Johnstown history. He won six heavyweight NCAA National Wrestling championships at UPJ and set five Pitt-Johnstown all-time wrestling records, according to the university.
Haselrig was named to the NCAA 75th Anniversary Wrestling Team.
Haselrig never played college football, but the Steelers picked him in the 12th round of the 1989 NFL draft. He excelled at offensive guard and was All-Pro in 1992.
Haselrig died of natural causes.
