The average cost of a gallon of gas has gone up significantly over the last week.
Triple-A Reports that the national average went up by nine cents over the last week from $3.53 a gallon to $3.65 a gallon. Pennsylvania’s average went up by near the same amount, going from $3.63 last week to $3.74 a gallon this morning. Indiana County’s average this morning is tied for the highest in our six-county region, matching Westmoreland County’s price of $3.83 a gallon.
Among other counties in the region, Clearfield has the lowest average this morning at $3.76 a gallon, followed by Cambria at $3.77 and Jefferson and Armstrong both posting a $3.78 a gallon.
Fayette County has the highest county-wide average in the state at $3.85 a gallon. Union County’s price is the lowest average in the state at $3.65 a gallon.
Gas prices in Indiana range from $3.78 a gallon to $3.89 a gallon, according to Gasbuddy.com. Homer City, Clymer and Blairsville are all reporting a $3.89 a gallon cost this morning.
