The Virginia High School Football League has decided to flip the football season from the fall to the spring, but Pitt recruit Malik Newton says that won’t do for him. Rather than play in the spring Newton tweeted yesterday that he will enroll at Pitt in December and be ready to go for the 2021 football season. Newton is a 6-2, 225-pound running back who is the two-time All-Tidewater Player of the year.
Linebacker/defensive end Trevion Stevenson rescinded his verbal commitment to Pitt yesterday. He’s from Hampton, Virginia. Stevenson has 41 football offers. He did not say what his new plan is.
