During their meeting Wednesday afternoon, the White Township Supervisors heard from a concerned resident regarding noise in the township.
Supervisors heard from Kelly Coleman who emphasized a need for a noise ordinance after several bands reportedly practiced in the building, formerly known as Jim Davis Autobody Garage, despite telling township officials that it is being used for storage. Coleman added that state police were called twice in March, however troopers said it was an issue that needed to be brought up to the board of supervisors.
Supervisor Eugene Gemmell said an ordinance would have to apply to all of White Township, not just portions of it, and that could be problematic for farmers and other businesses.
No decision was made as to whether an ordinance would be created. Supervisors will continue to discuss this matter in future meetings.
In other business, Supervisors approved the renaming of McCreary Road near the Jimmy Stewart Airport to Woody’s Way. They also approved a Stormwater Management Agreement for the IRMC Behavioral Health Hospital.
