The Pitt Panthers are one of only three college football teams with three players on the Maxwell Club’s 2020 Bednarik Award Watch List.
Defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman, safety Paris Ford, and defensive end Patrick Jones II were named yesterday. Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons is also on the 90-player list of top defensive players. LSU and USC joined Pitt with three players on the preseason watch list.
In recruitment news, Gateway defensive back/running back Derrick Davis has narrowed is choice to seven schools, and both Pitt and Penn State are on his list. Davis also names LSU, USC, Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia as options.
Various scouting services rate him as a four-star recruit, as the top safety in the state, and in the top ten players in Pennsylvania.
