Indiana Borough Council swore in some returning and some new members of their borough council last night as part of their reorganization meeting.
The borough council welcomed Betsy Sarneso and Sean McDaniel as their newest members of the borough council. In the re-organization meeting, Peter Broad was re-elected as the borough council president, while Gerald Smith was re-elected as vice president.
In his comments, Broad reacted to the news that David Janusek was let go from Downtown Indiana, Inc. Broad was informed of the news during a meeting of the Downtown Indiana executive board, and said that he will continue to represent the borough on the board.
In other business, a motion was made by council member James Smith, Jr. to make the monthly work sessions regular voting meetings as a way to save on advertising costs for when things need to be voted on right away. That motion passed unanimously. It doesn’t mean that there will be something to vote on at each meeting, but it would give the borough council more freedom to act on something during that second meeting each month.
