For the first time since March, the Pittsburgh Pirates played an actual game of baseball, albeit it was an intrasquad summer training camp game.
The game was originally planned for Thursday night, but the game was rained out. When the team saw more rain in the schedule for Friday night, the team quickly re-scheduled the game for 3:00 in the afternoon and got through 6 and a half innings and would devolve to a simulated game after that. The team practiced social distancing with coaches sitting in PNC Park’s box seats and a few players sitting in the stands trying to simulate a crowd.
Training camp resumes today.
