Governor Tom Wolf signed a new executive order this morning that will protect homeowners and renters from being evicted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press release sent this morning, the order provides protection to homeowners and renters if they have not received financial assistance from the Pennsylvania Housing and Financing Agency (PHFA), or if they are not already receiving relief through another form of foreclosure moratorium programs or judicial orders.
Wolf signed legislation in May that provided $150 million in rental assistance and $25 million through PHFA and the CARES Act funds. In all circumstances, homeowners and renters should continue making monthly payments if they can, but Pennsylvanians struggling to make payments should contact their landlord or mortgage servicer immediately.
