The average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania held steady over the last seven days.
Triple-A reports that the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline is $2.43 a gallon. That’s an increase of 17 cents from the same time last month, but it is still 47 cents lower than where it was last year. The national average is now $2.18 a gallon, an increase of one cent over the last week. The reason for the low increase over what is traditionally a time where gas prices go up sharply is because of a drop in demand. The demand drop could have come because of many states reporting surges in the number of Covid-19 cases, causing people to re-think travel plans.
Gas prices in Indiana Borough and White Township are averaging around $2.49 a gallon, with Homer City gas prices a penny cheaper at $2.48 a gallon. Blairsville gas prices are also at $2.48 a gallon. Clymer gas prices are three cents cheaper than that at $2.45 a gallon. The county-wide average is now $2.46 a gallon, which is the same average as in Westmoreland County. Armstrong County has the lowest average among the neighboring counties at $2.45 a gallon, Jefferson County’s average is $2.47 a gallon, and both Clearfield and Cambria counties have gas price averages of $2.49 a gallon.
