The Pittsburgh Penguins are running out of chances and relying on the failure of other teams to try and get into the two wild card spots available in the Eastern Conference.
The team returns to action this afternoon in Detroit against the Red Wings. In preparation for the game, the Pens have once again recalled forward Alex Nylander from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton team on an emergency basis. This comes after he was recalled and sent back within hours on Thursday. There was no word on which of the team’s incumbent forwards are potentially unavailable for today’s game. The last time the two teams met, the Pens lost 7-4 to the Red Wings in Detroit. After today, the Pens will have two games left: one on Tuesday against Chicago and an away game next Thursday in Columbus. You can hear today’s game starting at noon on U-92.5 FM and at u92radio.com.
