Today is New Year’s Day, and as such there are several closures in effect.
All Federal, State, and Local Government offices are closed for today, and today, that includes PennDOT offices and Fine Wine and Good Spirits Stores. Many banks are closed today, and there will be no regular mail delivery. The Indiana Free Library and Jimmy Stewart Museum are both closed for the day.
Garbage hauling service may be on a holiday schedule today, but that depends on the company picking up the garbage. Check with your refuse hauler on their schedule.
IndiGo Bus Service is also closed for the holiday. Many stores may be running on a shortened schedule today, if they’re open at all.
One event that was supposed to be held today was postponed. The Blairsville Polar Plunge was postponed last week to Sunday, January 7th at 1:00 PM due to the extra cold conditions expected today.
