For the eighth straight semester, the IUP women’s swimming program has been honored as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.
Teams were selected on the basis of their spring grade point averages and this year, a record 789 programs from 461 institutions representing 17,982 student-athletes were honored.
The IUP women’s program put up a combined 3.72 cumulative grade point average this semester, with 14 swimmers boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA. Senior Sophia Manges and sophomores Lindsey Griffith, Rachel Johnson, and Paige Mikesell each posted their fourth straight 4.0 semester.
Mikesell also received third team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, was a PSAC Winter Top 10 selection, and a nominee for the conference’s Pete Nevins Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
