More information was released by state police about a crash that was reported on Saturday in Black Lick Township. Troopers say the crash happened at 2:46 PM on Black Lick Road. A Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 73-year-old Leonard Lamantia, Jr. of Blairsville did not go through a right curve in the road cleanly. The vehicle hit a PennDOT sign, then a tree, disabling the car. Lamantia had suspected minor injuries and was taken to Conemaugh Hospital for treatment. Police said that Lamantia was wearing a seat belt at the time.
No one was hurt in a crash last Friday in Washington Township. State police say 26-year-old Prince Atsise of Indiana was driving on Shelocta Street in Washington Township at 5:05 PM when his car swerved right and went off the west bound curb. The car then veered left and went across the street off the opposite curve and hit a tree head-on. Atsise’s car then spun 180 degrees, coming to rest facing Northeast. The car was disabled by the crash.
One person was hurt in a crash on Route 422 in Armstrong Township yesterday. State Police say that 36-year-old Mark Juart was driving near Sycamore Road when he lost control and his SUV went off the west side of the road. Juart tried to apply the brakes, but overcorrected and rolled down an embankment, landing on its roof. He complained of neck pains and was flown to Allegheny General Hospital as a precaution.
INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
A man from Delaware County was charged by Indiana Borough Police with disorderly conduct in connection with a fight on Sunday. Police say they were dispatched around 2:15 AM on April 2nd for a large fight in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. Police found a large group of people in the “00” block of South 6th and did see a man later identified as Bernie Icart of Collingdale trying to punch another man. Icart was taken into custody and issued a non-traffic disorderly conduct citation. After being taken into custody, he was released.
