The Penns Manor School Board will meet tonight and the budget is expected to be on the agenda.
At their meeting in May, the board approved the tentative budget for the 2020-2021 school year by a 6-3 vote. The tentative budget has a deficit of $991,336, with revenues topping out at $17,147,059 and expenditures at $18,138,395. The budget called for an increase of .5528 mils to bring property taxes to 14.7228 mils. This means that for someone who has $75,000 in assessed property, the taxpayer would see a $41 increase in their annual property taxes. The budget also entails not replacing two teachers who are retiring at the end of the year.
Tonight’s meeting will be streamed live on the Penns Manor YouTube channel. You can find it at this link: https://youtu.be/wt_56Nqa4FY
