Three families were displaced as a car went into a multi-family apartment building on Franklin Street in Clymer on Tuesday.
Indiana County 911 said that Clymer Fire Department and State Police were called out at 2:08 PM for the crash. Clymer Fire Department officials say that a vehicle had a tire blowout, causing them to veer into a parked car and then into the building in the 400 block of Franklin Street. The car damaged the building’s foundation and compromised the building’s electrical system.
The building’s occupants were evacuated as a precaution. Two families are being assisted by relatives, while a third family was assisted by the American Red Cross. In all, five adults and two children were displaced. No injuries were reported, and the car was able to be driven from the scene after the tire was changed.
Commodore Volunteer Fire Department was called in to help with traffic detail and investigation of the structure.
