Several hunters and wildlife enthusiasts will make their way to the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex today for the 44th Annual PA State Taxidermy and Wildlife Art Competition and Outdoor Sportsman Show.
This marks the first time the show comes to Indiana County and the event is broken into two separate parts: the sportsman’s show, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the taxidermy competition, which runs from noon to 4 p.m. One unique thing about the taxidermy show, according to Jens Jorgensen, is that it offers a more in-depth look at animals around the U.S., rather than the traditional whitetail deer.
Along with the sportsman and taxidermy shows, the Pennsylvania Game Commission will be on site to answer hunting and wildlife questions. There will also be guest speakers, presentations, food trucks, and a live Cat Country radio broadcast from Renda Media, which will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
The day’s events are presented by the Pennsylvania Taxidermy Association along with the Indiana County Center for Economic Operations. More information can be found on our Facebook page.
