The IUP soccer team continues to stay busy during the off-season, as they welcomed 14 new faces to the team this past week. These faces include WPIAL qualifiers, sectional champions and even a player who has local roots to Indiana.
One of the names that stands out is Midfielder Grace Albitz from South Park High School. Albitz was named all-section and All-WPIAL at South Park and was a WPIAL champion and PIAA semifinalist.
Next is a dual-threat forward/midfielder Kennedy Fowler. Fowler graduated from Chopticon High School in Maryland, where she achieved Second team all-state success in Maryland, was a two-time first team all-county qualifier, and was the recipient of the Michelle Ballengee Sportsmanship Award.
Finally, a local face joins the team, as Hannah Scardina stays home and joins the Crimson Hawks after graduating from Indiana High School. Scardina was a three-time team MVP and was Named Most Outstanding Player of the All-WPIAL game in November.
