Greensburg Salem High School grad Jeff Mankins yesterday won the Westmoreland County Golf Association’s Junior Amateur tournament yesterday, outdueling Franklin Regional senior Mike Wareham on the second playoff hole after both shot 5-over 77 at the Latrobe Country Club.
Mankins is the son of Hannastown Glof Club pro Craig Mankins, the former coach of multiple sports at Indiana and Penns Manor high schools, and the former Lisa Zelenak, a star basketball player at Indiana in the 1990s.
Jeff Mankins will play his college golf at IUP, as his father did.
