This year’s College Football Hall of Fame ballot again includes former IUP quarterback Lynn Heiber. He was a two-time first team NAIA All-American, in 1974 and ’75, won the Division Two Total Offense crown in 1975, and was chosen as ECAC Divison Two Player of the Year, First Team All-East and First Team All-ECAC in 1975.
Heiber was first nominated for the Hall of Fame last year.
Other PSAC nominees this year are former Slippery Rock Coach George Mihalick, West Chester and Bloomsburg coach Danny Hale, Bloomsburg offensive lineman Jahri Evans, West Chester wide receiver Billy Hess, and Clarion tight end Gary McCauley.
Former IUP coaches Frank Cignetti and Chuck Klausing are members of the College Football Hall of Fame, as is former player Jim Haslett.
From Division One, the College Football hall of Fame nominees are Pitt stars Matt Cavanaugh and Craig “Ironhead” Heyward and Penn State standouts Bobby Engram, DJ Dozier and Steve Wisniewski.
There are 78 players and seven coaches from Division One on the ballot.
