Indiana School District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich gave an update to the board during Monday night’s meeting concerning mental health and student discipline.
Vuckovich said in his update that the district has continued to build its mental support system out, and the number of staffers has showed that progress.
Prior to the meeting, the audit and finance committee met and discussed budget projections for the 2023-2024 school year, and as the budget sits right now, the district will face a roughly $4.5 million deficit. Business Manager Jared Cronauer said that while they are looking at the district’s costs and revenues, the state budget has not been factored in completely.
The first draft of the budget is due by the end of May so that it can be approved in June.
The board also approved purchasing General and Excess Liability along with Workers Comp insurance through the state’s Owner Controlled Insurance Program for the Eisenhower elementary project.
