The Indiana Area School Board has an ambitious agenda before it when it meets tonight. It may be a long night!
Among the many items on the agenda is a motion to close the district’s bank accounts related to the now-abandoned elementary school projects.
The board will consider a motion to instruct the administration to submit at the January 15th meeting a plan to transition 6th graders from the Summit Learning curriculum to traditional teaching methods for the third semester of this academic year, and a second motion for a plan recommending which core subjects should continue in Summit Learning to the end of the school year and a plan for 6th graders with a core subject in Summit Learning and other classes with traditional methods.
Other agenda items tonight include motions to withdraw from the Indiana Parks and Recreation Board, to include members of the public on all standing committees, to select a candidate to become the new district solicitor, and a host of items for the Building & Grounds Committee. Among those many items is a tour of each of the district’s school buildings and the development of short and long term plans for each of the six buildings.
