The Department of Community and Economic Development announced that new funding will be made available to sixty of Pennsylvania’s counties, including Indiana County.
The money will be made available through the Covid-19 County Relief Block Grant and is meant to offset the cost of direct Covid-19 response at the county level, assist municipalities with their Covid-19 response and planning efforts, fund non-profit assistance programs, and deploy broadband to unserved or underserved communities. $625 million was made available to the state as part of the CARES act funding. The money will be made available to every Pennsylvania County except the seven who received direct assistance via the CARES act.
Applications for the funding must be filled out online and submitted to DCED by June 16th. The application is available on the DCED website, at www.dced.pa.gov
