The weather over the past few days has not paid motorists any favors as we are seeing more accident reports from the state police.
No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Route 259 in Brush Valley Township, just north of Ross Road on December 13th. 21-year-old Tucker Singer of Robinson was driving North on 259 when for unknown reasons, his car went off the east shoulder, went down an embankment. The car then hit a utility pole, and rolled over onto its roof, coming to rest facing south.
Another crash on the 13th was reported in East Wheatfield Township on Route 22. 42-year-old Calvin Frantz of Altoona was driving east on Route 22 when the car started to slide on the snow-covered road. The fish-tailing car hit a concrete barrier on the left side with it’s rear end, causing a tire to go flat.
The driver escaped injury in a crash on December 14th on Cherry Tree Road in Montgomery Township around 11:30 AM. 25-year-old Ian Ralston of Altoona was going East on Cherry Tree Road when he lost control due to the bad road conditions. He went off the southern berm and hit a utility pole. Police also say speed was a factor in the crash.
And no one was injured in a crash in Rayne Township on Route 119. State Police say 72-year-old George Fatula of Dubois was driving south on 119 when he hit some snow and ice on the road, causing him to lose control of his car and hit a fence on the west-side berm. The car continued to travel along the fence and came to rest in front of a nearby house.
