At Tuesday night’s Clymer Borough Council Meeting, council members approved giving a break to borough taxpayers who may be financially affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.
The board approved waiving penalties for real estate, fire protection and street light taxes for borough residents for this year. Residents will be able to pay the taxes off at face value until December 31st. The borough did not extend any early bird payment periods.
In other business, the council announced that they are still looking for police officers to round out the borough police force. The search for a new officer got underway in May with the resignation of Officer Hunter Scherf.
