The Indiana County Commissioners on Wednesday approved four motions concerning the settlements that the county will receive connected with the opioid epidemic.
The Commissioners approved establishing the composed initial disbursement of funds allocated to the county pursuant to the state’s opioid settlement agreement and distribution from the Pennsylvania Issues and Addiction Abatement Trust. The commissioners established the Indiana County Opioid Advisory Committee and appointed its members and the board’s chairperson, Kami Anderson who is also the executive director of the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission.
Commissioner Robin Gorman said that this committee is an important part of the disbursement process.
The commissioners also approved the purchase of a Spartan Engine Tanker from the Bolivar Fire Company to be used by the county’s HAZMAT team.
