Good news was announced Friday as Indiana County continues in the Green Phase of Governor Tom Wolf’s reopening plan. The YMCA and Mack Park Pool will open soon.
The Y will open Monday, June 8th with the pool reopening one week later on June 15th.
The YMCA’s main facility will have a modified schedule in order to comply with sanitization guidelines. Monday through Saturday, an hour will be set aside by the Y each day for cleaning. Monday through Friday, there will be two half-hour closures for sanitization and on Saturday, it will be a one-hour session. Swim equipment will not be available. The Y will have a limited number of cardio equipment available. Several amenities of the Y will remain closed, like Child Watch, the steam room and sauna, shower rooms, locker rooms, and the gym will be closed except for scheduled activities.
The YMCA has announced that it is discounting Mack Park Pool passes 20 percent due to the shortened season and the joining fee is waived through the 14th. You will need to schedule an appointment with the Y to buy a pool pass, and you can do that by calling 724-463-9622.
